This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Awkward Pet Photos, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We act as the data controller.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, hashed password, sign-up date.
• Uploaded photos: the images you submit for generation.
• Generated images and credit history: linked to your account.
• Payment metadata: session id, amount, currency. Card details are handled directly by Stripe — we never see them.
• Technical data: IP address, user agent, basic request logs.

2. Why we use it (legal basis under GDPR)

• Performance of contract — to provide the Service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, abuse limiting on the free trial.
• Legal obligation — bookkeeping for paid transactions.
• Consent — only where required by law (e.g. non-essential cookies).

3. Sharing & sub-processors

• Cloud hosting & database — Supabase (EU region available).
• Payments — Stripe.
• AI image generation — Google AI Studio (Gemini).

We only share what is necessary for these providers to deliver their part of the Service.

4. Retention

• Uploaded photos: processed in memory and not stored long-term by us.
• Generated images: kept while your account exists.
• Transaction records: kept for as long as required by tax law (typically 5+ years).

5. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email haakon86@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

6. International transfers

Some sub-processors may process data outside the EU/EEA. In that case we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
